How to Install libsam-java software package in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr)

libsam-java software package provides Java library to manipulate SAM and BAM files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install libsam-java

libsam-java is installed in your system.

Make ensure the libsam-java package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libsam-java *

You will get with libsam-java package name, version, architecture and description in a table
